Table Rock Man

Around the Rogue Valley I hear stories of Table Rock Man, stories whose origins are as well hidden as the swirling valley fog that hides the flanks of Lower Table Rock.

A shapeshifter who wanders between worlds and keeps an eye on things, he is a man who lives along the old Indian trail that steals up from the Rogue River. He is the stone bear that guards the top of the rock. A coyote stalking at night between ancient Indian sites swelled with stories and the less mythic BLM trail.

Whether they've heard of him or not, folks who visit Lower Table Rock sense that someone watches everything they do, someone as furtive as a mutable fog.
