Before & After the 1993 Earthquake

On September 21, 1993, a magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Klamath Falls, Oregon. Several miles south, at Lava Beds National Monument in northeast California, the jolt shifted the rock that framed the fist and finger of sunlight at the site of the Solstice Pictograph. The black and white photo was taken before the earthquake (Summer Solstice, 1986) and the color photo after (Summer Solstice, 2006). Both photos were taken a few minutes after sunrise.
