Thomas Doty's workshops are for people who have an interest in the art of storytelling as well as exploring native cultures. Doty is a captivating teacher, blending stories with engaging activities and games.
Workshops provide intensive experiences for participants. Each session is a journey that uses the power of words to explore native traditions and the wisdoms they bring to our contemporary world.
Thomas Doty has a large repertoire of workshop stories and activities. Content is fine-tuned for each group of participants. Workshops can also be presented as in-services, master classes, seminars, discussion groups or one-on-one private lessons. Several days of workshops can be scheduled to create a residency. Doty's workshops are conducted in a non-competitive atmosphere. Each session is 45-90 minutes long.
Doty & Coyote Stories
All workshops feature a blend of traditional native myths and Thomas Doty's original series of native stories. The latter provide a modern path into an ancient native world. Topics include Native World View, Rock Writings, Mythology, Sense of Place, and much more! Deluxe editions of Doty & Coyote stories, as well as resources, can be read on this website.
Reading the Rock Writings
Here is the four page document that accompanies Thomas Doty's Rock Writing workshop. It is in standard PDF format which can be projected on a screen during the workshop, or printed and handed out to participants.
