Staging Requirements
Performances & Workshops
- Appoint a host to introduce Thomas Doty as well as be in contact with Doty to coordinate arrangements prior to programs.
- Please provide a space free of distractions and disruptions with comfortable seating.
- For Performances & Talks, Thomas Doty requires a minimum 10' x 10' empty space. Please provide a chair without arms or wheels (preferably wood) or a stool (24" high). Doty needs access to the space for at least 30 minutes prior to a performance for set-up and settling in.
- For Workshops, please provide a quiet space large enough to accommodate movement and other hands-on activities.
- In schools, please limit Performances to 200 students or less to maintain the intimacy of a traditional storytelling. Sometimes larger groups can be accommodated in a theatre setting. Talks & Workshops should be capped at 30 students. If you have special-needs students who require specific accommodations, please make arrangements with Thomas Doty well in advance of programs.
- To maintain the integrity of the storytelling experience, please refrain from recording or photographing Doty's programs unless advance arrangements have been made.
- Please silence cell phones, land phones, pagers, watch alarms, school bells and intercoms. Thank you!
